Born in 1952 in Dijon, Eric Valli was a cabinetmaker
before he first traveled to the Himalayas.
He has since become one of the finest photographers of the region. His regular contributions to Geo, National Geographic, the Sunday Times,
the Smithsonian, Life and Paris Matchhave won him
an international reputation.
He has received several World Press Awards
notably for The Honey Hunters (1988) and The Shadow Hunters (1991) and The Dust Children.
